THRIVING COMMUNITIES

The Thriving Communities project was part of a national programme designed to bring together marginalised parts of local communities and introduce them to cultural projects through activities in Arts, Nature and Movement.

creativeShift's role was as Lead Partner. Co-ordinating the efforts of multiple delivery partners to provide a variety of 10 different programmes in cultural centres and community venues across Bristol which all formed part of an academic evaluation.

Effective Collaboration between NASP (National Association for Social Prescribing) and Arts Council England


The fund in Bristol was part of a £1.8m investment and focussed on people most impacted by health inequalities and Covid-19 (which disproportionately impacted on people with poor physical and mental health).  As a result a film has been made of the successes achieved with the various Bristol creative health schemes.

There have been a number of successful stories, and tangible life-changing impacts as a direct result of the Thriving Communities project in Bristol.


It brought together a number of different cultural and community providers to explore solutions that would most benefit people's health and wellbeing through creative expression.
